Minor Hotels Is Bringing The Wolseley to New York

If you've ever lingered over breakfast at The Wolseley on Piccadilly, you'll understand why this news matters. Minor Hotels has just announced the global launch of The Wolseley Hotels as a standalone brand — and its first property in the world will open in New York City in early 2027.

The hotel will occupy 130 West 44th Street in Midtown Manhattan, steps from Bryant Park. The building itself has serious bones: constructed in 1905 as The Lambs Club by the legendary firm McKim, Mead & White, it's long been associated with Broadway's creative elite — precisely the kind of address a brand rooted in occasion and cultural cachet deserves.

The property will offer 76 rooms and suites, balancing classical elegance with contemporary restraint. But the real draw will be the food and drink. The Wolseley New York will be the brand's first US restaurant, carrying forward the grand café spirit of the London original — all-day dining, signature cocktails, and that particular atmosphere where everyone looks like they might be someone. A cellar-level speakeasy bar and a reimagined wellness centre complete the picture.

"Our vision is to create hotels anchored in culinary excellence, architectural character, and a genuine sense of occasion," said Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International.

New York is just the start. Minor Hotels has confirmed a considered global rollout with future properties planned across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North America.
